Ibsen's classic is the tale of one man's brave struggle to speak the truth in the face of social intolerance. When Dr. Stockman discovers that the town's baths are dangerously polluted, he expects to be hailed a hero by the community; but instead, the town turns against him. This timely play exposes the masses' tendency to irrational fears, and the hypocrisy and corruption of the political system their fears support.
